Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Dangu Pronit Bikash Chakma, Executive Secretary, CADC, stated that the occasion was not merely a celebration of “MCSU Day,” but also a tribute to the sacrifices, dedication, and visionary leadership of former MCSU leaders whose relentless efforts have shaped the organisation into a respected and influential student body today.

He remarked that the Foundation Day serves as an important occasion to reflect upon the achievements and historic journey of MCSU while reaffirming the collective commitment towards safeguarding the interests and aspirations of the student community.

Expressing appreciation for the initiatives undertaken by the present CMCSU leadership, he commended the executive members for their sincere service in addressing the grievances and challenges faced by students residing in Aizawl, Lunglei, Lawngtlai, and outside Mizoram. He stated that the union’s consistent engagement with concerned authorities and prompt intervention in resolving student-related issues reflect responsible and effective leadership.

He further observed that constructive cooperation between non-governmental organisations and government institutions is essential for ensuring timely and meaningful solutions to public concerns, adding that such coordination strengthens both governance and community welfare.

Highlighting one of CMCSU’s landmark initiatives, he lauded the Educational Tour Programme organised by the union, describing it as a historic and forward-looking step towards broadening the academic exposure and awareness of students. He stressed that such initiatives are especially important at a time when literacy and educational progress within the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) region continue to fall short of public expectations.

Speaking on the importanceof education, he encouraged students to strive for excellence not only in academics but also in moral values, discipline, and intellectual development. He also emphasised the indispensable role of parents and society in creating a supportive learning environment for young people.

Furthermore, he noted that despite being fundamentally a student-based organisation, MCSU has consistently extended its role beyond educational matters and contributed meaningfully towards addressing various social and community issues affecting the Chakma society.

Referring to the challenges faced by student organisations functioning outside Kamalanagar, he acknowledged the dedication and sacrifices of those organisations that continue serving students and the community despite severe financial constraints. He described the situation as unfortunate, noting that limited financial resources often hinder such organisations from functioning effectively.

However, he assured that once the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) attains greater administrative and financial stability, he would make every possible effort to support and strengthen student organisations working for the welfare, educational advancement, and empowerment of the community.

Addressing the gathering, CMCSU President Dangu Parbesh Chakma highlighted the historic contributions of MCSU towards the protection and upliftment of the Chakma community. He thanked former MCSU leaders for their sacrifices and stated that the organisation’s present achievements were built upon the strong foundation laid by past leadership.

He informed that more than Rs. 35 lakh had been utilized for coaching centres, digital educational facilities, Mizo Learning Centres, office infrastructure, and student welfare activities. He also encouraged students to pursue careers in the judiciary, police, civil services, and healthcare sectors for stronger community representation.

Expressing concern over the shortage of teachers in remote CADC village schools, he urged the Education Department to ensure proper teacher rationalisation for equal educational opportunities. He further appealed to teachers to continue serving with sincerity and dedication.

The CMCSU President also highlighted the financial challenges faced by several MCSU zones outside CADC, including the risk of MCSU Lunglei becoming defunct, and appealed to the community to extend financial and moral support towards student organisations.

Additionally, M/S Education Officer Dangu Punyo Jagat Talukdar addressed the long-standing demand raised by MCSU regarding the rationalisation of teachers in CADC schools. During his speech, he acknowledged the challenges faced by several village schools due to the shortage of teachers compared to institutions located in town areas.

He stated that the Education Department is actively working on necessary measures to ensure a balanced distribution of teachers across schools under the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC). He further explained that schools with very low student enrolment cannot be allotted the same number of teachers as larger schools, and therefore the department is carefully verifying school-wise data before implementing any rationalisation policy.

Assuring the gathering, he informed that the concerned authority is expected to take a final decision on the matter soon and further assured that the Central Mizoram Chakma Students' Union would be included in discussions and analysis before the final implementation of the policy to ensure transparency and proper execution.

The programme also featured motivational and inspiring speeches delivered by the invited guests, who encouraged students to pursue higher education, maintain discipline, and actively contribute towards community development.

The event was chaired by Dangu Samser Chakma, Vice President of Central MCSU and Chairman of the Organising Committee, while the programme was hosted by Milani Chakma, Information and Publicity Secretary, CMCSU. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dangu Samser Chakma, expressing gratitude to all guests, participants, supporters, and well-wishers for contributing to the successful observance of the programme.

The Central Mizoram Chakma Students' Union extended heartfelt congratulations to all the successful students and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in education, leadership, and service for the betterment of society and the community.
