Lunglei, August 26, 2025:
In view of the ongoing road construction works along NH-302 (Lunglei–Tlabung), the Lunglei District Superintendent of Police (SP), Pu J. Lalmuankima, has issued a notification regulating traffic movement to ensure smooth work progress and public safety.
The order, issued under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (Sections 115/117) and the Government of Mizoram Notification dated June 1, 2020, specifies fixed hours for vehicular passage on the Sazaikawn–Hauruang and Tuichawng–Tlabung stretches.
Permitted Road Opening Hours (Sazaikawn–Hauruang):
06:00 AM – 08:30 AM
11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon
02:00 PM – 02:30 PM
05:30 PM – 06:00 AM (next day)
The regulation will remain in force from September 1 to September 30, 2025.
Essential services—including police duty, magistrate duty, fire & emergency services, excise & narcotics, medical services, disaster response force, P&E, and PHE department duties—are exempted from the restriction. Special movement permitted by the SP, Lunglei, will also be allowed.

The SP’s office has appealed for public cooperation, noting that the temporary inconvenience will help facilitate the timely completion of vital road infrastructure along NH-302.
